Teacher Guide

Philosophy

We believe that the Teacher Guide is the most helpful document that we've created because it allows teachers to:
  • Prepare for the problem
  • Reflect on the goal/purpose of the problem
  • Anticipate the misconceptions that students will have
  • Plan for student presentations to the class
  • Differentiate the problem for various learners

Prior to most lessons we sit down and fill this document out together. We recommend that you have someone to collaborate with to gain new perspectives and methods.

Below you will find our insights for each section of the Teacher Guide.

Since creating this document we've realized that the teacher guide aligns quite well with  NCTM's Mathematical Teaching Practices which are practices that, "research indicate need to be consistent components  of every mathematics lesson. (Principles to Action, NCTM)
